Horizon of the Soul is a piece of music that accentuates the uniqueness, the beauties, and the innate Godlike characters every human being possesses. In collaboration with Mark Vaughan this original composition creates a beautiful space to consider the worth of souls. Each soul has its own Horizon; a coming into light if you will, an awakening to divine potential and the ability to see our own transformative natures.
Guy (Mark) L Vaughan died just a few days before 9/11 in 2001. He was my mentor, hero, teacher and friend. Mark was the man who taught me how to love music, how to play it, and how to compose. He changed my life in every way for the better. When I was 16 years old during one of our lessons he asked me if I would like to play one of his pieces he was working on. He told me he didn’t like it, but that together maybe we could make something amazing. So for the next 4 months we worked on “Horizon of the Soul” together. It was transformative for me as a student and a new composer. He taught me how to make things lyrical, how to incorporate movement and accentuate melody. His trust in me and his love of music changed my soul and gave me the confidence to create music of my own. I am a composer today because of this piece of music. I hope you love it as much as I do!
Each soul has its own Horizon, this piece of music awakened mine.
